What is Distance Learning
What is distance learning?
It’s a solution for many adults who have just figured out a new career
path, but already have commitments and can’t go back to school full time. With more flexible schedules and fast paced
classes, adults are using distance learning MBA programs as a way to get an
education in the business world.
Earning your masters degree in business administration can
take many years at land based universities and colleges. By enrolling in a distance learning MBA
program you can earn a degree in as little as 16 months. You attend school when and where you like,
rather than commuting to the college to shuffle around the campus.
An MBA can help anyone looking to the management track as a
long term career. According to Business
Week, an MBA can add up to 25% of an employment offer – that $50,000 a year
offer turns into $65,000. For those who
are currently employed, it can advance one’s position significantly.
Distance learning, whether for an MBA or other degree, all
work about the same. You visit the
school’s website and login. You continue
your coursework and take automated tests along the way. Occasionally you’ll be put into a work group
and meet your classmates for a project.
At the end of each course, you’ll take a final test online.
Another benefit of distance learning is the ability to work
at your own pace. If you have 6 hours on
one day to dedicate to the classroom or will be on vacation for a week during a
semester, you can make up the work or work as fast as you are comfortable. There are typically no minimum requirements
for classroom time; you are only required to complete the entire learning
module.
The time you spend on an online program is far less than a
traditional school. With access 24/7,
you go to school when you can, rather than when you must. Distance learning MBA
programs are beneficial to almost anyone in the business world.
